Bios

Mel Pohl, M.D., D.F.A.S.A.M. is the Senior Medical Consultant to the Pain Recovery Program at The Pointe Malibu Recovery Center.  He was formerly the Chief Medical Officer of the Las Vegas Recovery Center (LVRC). He is a Family Practitioner, certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine, and a Distinguished Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine. He is the author of A Day Without Pain (Central Recovery Press) and The Pain Antidote - Stop Suffering from Chronic Pain, Avoid Addiction to Painkillers, and Reclaim Your Life with Kathy Ketcham (DaCapo Press). 

Harry Haroutunian, MD has nearly five decades experience in medicine with extensive experience the treatment of addiction including serving as the Physician Director of the Betty Ford Center and The Beach House Malibu.  He is currently providing Concierge Addiction Medicine treatment and Clinical Diagnostic Evaluations in

Rancho Mirage, CA

John F. Kelly, Ph.D. Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, the founder and Director of the Recovery Research Institute at the MGH. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles, reviews, and chapters in the field of addiction. His clinical and research work has focused on addiction treatment and the recovery process which has included specific research on the effectiveness of mutual-help groups, such as Alcoholics Anonymous, as adjuncts to formal care.
Reverend Mark Stelzer, Ph.D. is a priest of the Diocese of Springfield, MA  currently serves as a full-time humanities faculty member and chaplain at Elms College in Chicopee, MA. In addition to his personal involvement in Twelve Step recovery, Mark regularly facilitates workshops and retreats throughout the US on topics related to addiction and recovery.
Linda Bresnahan, M.S. is the executive director Federation of State Physician Health Programs and Director of Program Operations, Physician Health Services, Inc.  She has worked in physician health for more than 25 years.
Mark Albanese, M.D. is the Medical Director of Massachusetts Physician Health Services. Dr. Albanese is a graduate of Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University and has more than thirty years of experience as a psychiatrist specializing in addiction psychiatry.  He served on the PHS Clinical Advisory Committee for more than 20 years. Most recently, Dr. Albanese was Medical Director for Addictions at Cambridge Health Alliance. He is an assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and is board-certified in both psychiatry and addiction psychiatry. 

Greg Jones, M.D. serves in addiction medicine division within the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida. His expertise includes alcoholism, chemical dependency, medical complications associated with Addiction as well as evaluation and treatment of impaired professionals facing addiction and other mental health issues. He evaluates and treats impaired health and other professionals, and teaches American Board of Addiction Medicine/American Society of Addiction Medicine fellows, psychiatric residents and medical students.  

Terrance M. Bedient, F.A.C.H.E. has been the Vice President of MSSNY and Director of the Committee for Physician Health since 1997.  He was appointed by New York Chief Judge Judith Kaye as a charter Board member of the Lawyers Assistance Trust which oversees statewide substance abuse programs for attorneys and judges. He currently serves on the Board of the Federation of State Physician Health Programs, and as a Class A Trustee and Treasurer of the General Service Board in New York City.
